Te Reo Maori With Whaea Celes

This morning, we had Whaea Celes after writing. We've greeted each other in Maori. We sang a hymn then said a karakia (prayer).

We've learnt how to say community, here, there and over there in Maori.

Whaea Celes showed us some pictures of people going to the Marae. In a powhiri, the girls need to be in front, the boys are at the back, and the teachers and parents are around the children.

A hongi is when you greet another person by touching your noses together. You will always have kai at the Marae.
