Floating, Kicking, Tumbling, Splashing
On Wednesday we had our first water safety lesson. The focus
of this lesson was how to kick your way to safety. Did you know that the best
way to get back to shore safely is to float on your back and kick!!! Ask us to
explain to you why. (:
World of Maths
We LOVE MATHS! On Friday we got to try our hand at some
wicked math challenges and games. Our Max W’s favourite challenge was ‘Apples’.
He managed to collect the full amount of money. Sasha’s favourite was ‘Match Us’.
The favourite for quite a few of us, including Miss Derhamy, was ‘Build a
Bridge’. For this activity we had to balance, stack and arrange plastic tiles
to span across a short distance. Mia and Louisa designed a bridge strong enough
to support Room 14’s camera.
Graphic Art
This week we have been creating,
not drawing, Portraits of ourselves.
We combined text, patterns, colours and photographs to make a visually striking
image. This
has also started to make us think about Pop Art. We will post pictures up next
week for you to have a look at.
